AMARC 9, the 9th World Conference and General Assembly of AMARC, was in Amman, Jordan from the 11 to the 17 of November 2006.

The Internet Jordanian pioneer and FM broadcaster http://www.ammannet.net hosted the conference in partnership with media and journalists groups from Jordan and Palestine.

AMARC 9 brought together up to 300 community broadcasters from about 100 countries and all regions of the world.

The ninth gathering of community radio broadcasters which was a week long consisted first of all in a world conference that allowed participants to analyze and explore the challenges facing community radios.

Then, voting and associate members of AMARC met for the 9th World General Assembly of AMARC and received the reports of the International Board, defined the Amman Declaration of Community Radio Broadcasters, adopted the strategic plan 2007-2010, elected the new international board of Directors and adopted resolutions to tackle the challenges facing the community radio movement.

* Read and hear the presentations made by panelists during AMARC 9
